About two and a half years ago, I was contacted by a man who stated he was the brother of a woman who had an iCandy cat. His sister had developed a progressive illness and after a recent collapse where she was found on a wellness check, she had to go to a nursing home. He wanted to know if I would take the cat back as his own dog was not safe around cats and Simba, the cat, had been in the apartment alone for some time. I, of course, said absolutely. He drove the cat to my house in an ice storm. The poor kitty was traumatized by his life dramatically changing. I was able to comb out his mats and offer him comfort.
In a relatively short amount of time, he went home with a young woman to be loved and pampered. Simba had found another home. Then, a week ago, I got an email from a man saying he was a friend of the current owner who had been in the hospital for a month with multiple issues. She was unable to care for Simba anymore and asked this friend to return him to me right away.
Of course, the 6 year old cat could come back to iCandy. The problem was, I was in Colorado for another week. I was upset for the owner and for the cat. My friend Albert agreed to accept Simba and house him until I was home. I was and am so appreciative! He let Simba decompress and then was able to groom him.
I picked Simba up and brought him home today. He is such a sweet boy. Very quiet. I’m sure it will take him a while to relax. He needs love and security. And Temptations.
